#NotMe is a project born in 2017 with the aim of inviting women to cancer prevention. For this reason, in the first published photos I used a Hipstamatic set called Stand Up To Cancer. In Italy there is still shame to say that you have to feel the breasts and do all the checks so as not to have problems in the future. I chose the symbol of self-deprivation most felt in a woman: to cut her hair. It is the symbol of the most painful cuts that can be avoided with prevention. Sometimes I chose more realistic poses, others I preferred a symbolic intent putting the scissors in the center of the picture, a daily instrument that can become lethal from harmless. All have their faces against the wall as self-constraint. Of no one can see the face because behind that hair there can be any woman.
Given the dramatic increase in murder and violence against women, I would like to extend the #NotMe motto to all women who suffer violence. Reporting immediately is the only solution and these new photos are an invitation to all not to suffer as if it were an obligatory destiny

#NotMe è un progetto nato nel 2017 con l’obiettivo di invitare le donne alla prevenzione del cancro. Per questo motivo, nelle prime foto pubblicate ho usato un set Hipstamatic chiamato Stand Up To Cancer. In Italia c’è ancora vergogna a dire che devi sentire il seno e fare tutti i controlli per non avere problemi in futuro. Ho scelto il simbolo di privazione di sé più sentito in una donna: tagliare i capelli. È il simbolo dei tagli più dolorosi che possono essere evitati con la prevenzione. A volte ho scelto pose più realistiche, altre ho preferito un intento simbolico mettendo le forbici al centro dell’immagine, uno strumento quotidiano che può diventare letale da innocuo. Tutti hanno le loro facce contro il muro come autocontrollo. Di nessuno si può vedere il viso perché dietro quei capelli può esserci qualsiasi donna.
Dato il drammatico aumento del femminicidio e della violenza contro le donne, vorrei estendere il motto #NotMe a tutte le donne che subiscono violenza. La segnalazione immediata è l’unica soluzione e queste nuove foto sono un invito a tutti a non soffrire come se fosse un destino obbligato
